Reviews of ETF VOLATILITY TIMER

ETF VOLATILITY TIMER

In my 2 weeks live, trader seems to do a decent job at focusing his efforts on these 2 volatility ETFs. His numbers look decent, time will tell.

ETF VOLATILITY TIMER

I subscribed to this system a couple of weeks before the 5.1% drawdown in May -- bad timing on my part. Luckily, I stuck with it and I'm now in the black. The system vendor really seems to have identified a market inefficiency with these VIX ETFs. I like the fact that the system is not correlated with the S&P. The two reason's why I can't give it 5 starts are 1) There is significant slippage due to the roughly $500K of funds autotrading this strategy, and 2) the losers are usually several times bigger than the winners, so a bad losing streak can take quite a while to recover from.

Why hold on to losses forever?? You need to improve your strategy to cut losses and still be profitable. Two months with no gain at all...

ETF VOLATILITY TIMER

Based on my experience so far this is a good system to hedge your S&P portfolio due to it 19s inverse correlation with the stock market. This system makes most of its money on volatility when the market is dropping which is a hard characteristic to find here. I also appreciate that the trades are very quick (sometimes minutes) so it will not tie up much margin in your account. It WILL hold on to losing trades that occasionally result in a larger than average loss, but the high percentage of small winners more than makes up for those in the long run, providing good (but not spectacular) returns, in addition to smoothing out your stock portfolio 19s volatility. I am happy with the performance.

ETF VOLATILITY TIMER

Great system. After a rough patch this past summer, the system was adjusted and has produced remarkable results since. Low risk with mostly intraday trades, an over 90% win rate (even higher since the summer), scalable, a reasonable subscription fee and a developer who responds to questions. Four stars only because the system is still less than one year old. Otherwise, a clear five.

Vendor does not have a well thought out approach. This is a scalping system, similar to Sharktrades that went belly up a few months ago. The system is a recipe for disaster, and the current trade is disaster #1 unfolding. Hold and hope approach, averaging down and hoping things will turn out right. 21 straight wins (before the current losing trade) and the vendor sent out an excited email to subscribers congratulating himself about the fact. Mature traders don’t do this. You have been warned.
